What does daytime postpartum care look like?
The main goal is to ensure that the postpartum mother is supported and cared for.
What does a postpartum doula do?
First and foremost my job is to ensure that the new mom has received the appropriate amount of sleep and self care.
How does a Doula help with this ?
Here are some ways I can help:
Light Housekeeping including: Loading and unloading dishwasher, cleaning up kitchen counters, doing a few loads of laundry, and light household organization.
Prepare Meals and Snacks for Mom and the family.
Run Errands prior to arriving at your home.
Educate you about infant care: Diapering, bathing, cord care, circumcision care, infant feeding (breast and bottle feeding support).
Educate about normal newborn behavior
Screening for Postpartum Mental Health Disorders.
Help older siblings adjust to the new baby in the house.
Help pets adjust to the new baby.
